Kansas City BBQ

Sorry, but as a native of KC, the "real" BBQ in KC comes from Gates or Arthur Bryants, the two best BBQ joints in the universe. People from outside of KC claiming to know anything at all about BBQ are just living in a fantasy world. 5  out of 8 found this valuable. Do you?

What about Smokestack Restaurant in Martin city? (South Kc Suburb) Great 5 star BBQ.
What about Haywards BBQ in Overland Park?
What about LC's BBQ (off 63rd Street?)
And Smokehouse in North KC is very good also.

Are there any bad BBQ Restaurants in KC? (I dont' think so)

Winslow's in the city market is the closest thing to bad barbeque I've ever had in Kansas City and I still ended up satisfied with their sauce. Smokestack is definitely one of those hidden gems worth noting. Another lesser known but equally delicious KC style barbeque is Rosedale's BBQ on Southwest Blvd. Gates and Bryants are still the top of the ranks of distinctly Kansas City barbeque though. 1  out of 1 found this valuable. I forgot about another neat BBQ joint. BB's Lawn Side BBQ at 85th and Troost.
Mike Shannon has live jazz and blues and good BBQ.
Can't beat that combo.
