Opinions on Grills

Has anyone had the wonderful experience of buying a grill and loving it so much that you BBQ even more than you did before?
Or, have you been one of the unfortunate souls to buy a grill only to find it wasn't worth the price and didn't meet your expectations? If you've had either of these experiences, tell us about them here. It can help others when trying to determine which type/kind/size of grill to buy. 2 out of 2 found this valuable. Do you?

For a year I dreamed of buying a pellet smoker. It was such a pain being around all day to keep filling the smoker box on my propane smoker. My wife smokes a lot of Salmon we catch, and I like to do ribs, turkeys, and tri-tip.. Smoker pellets are available in 7-10 different varieties. I found if you can taste the smoke they all taste the same. We have never been so disappointed in a $1000 PURCHASE IN OUR LIVES. We've had the BBQ/smoker for over a year, and haven't really liked anything we have smoked except a couple of pork tenderloins. I have contacted the factory and they really offered me NO solutions or options. I could go on and on about how disappointed I am but I think I'll just go back to our propane smoker and our Weber gas Grill and/or our Weber Kettle.

hi for years i lived in poverty in the south west usa. we had no working a/c in 120 degree weather. we had no oven. and only one mabey if we were brave 2 burners of our gas stove worked. needless to say i probably will be found solely responceable for global warming. seriously if i needed something baked "cake rice deep pit style bbq" i used a lodge cast iron dutch oven for camping. i used a grill for every thing else and had a stand alone up right smoker. my grill wasn't very fancy it had no rotisserie or anything much but it burned charcoal and had vents at bottom and top was about 24 inches square and adjustable hight grill. i bought it for fathers day for my dad when he still had a job a wife and i still had my mom. but all disappeared in the typical order the grill stayed. day and night morning noon wind shine rain *no snow desert south west* and durring temperatures that didn't even require fire to cook the meat i swear i was out there. i smoked and bbqed and grilled enough that for about 2 years i was able to camoflauge a 2 and a half pack of camels a day.i grew up got married and swore to never EVER EEEEVER cook like that again. 7 years went by and i got tired of eating my brother and father in-laws infrequent and crapy bbq. so i kept an eye out for the right grill for me. my wife has gotten a very nice job even though i lost mine and i was in lowes when i found my new grill. it has all the features i need in a grill and a few i would have liked to have. i like my food cooked low and slow. i like charcoal. and i like to set the hight of my meat to the embers i also like to smoke food. i saw the char griller pro and it had all the features i wanted in a grill. and options like a side fire box for smoking and a set up *that i want but don't have* for rotisserie. and after cooking on it some i have begun to grill again. my wife is happy my kids are happy i have good bbq my kitchen is cooler. my dog is getting fatter.ONE SIDE NOTE ON THIS GRILL. i am a carpenter by trade and a mechanic by need. i also do cement. IF YOU WANT THE SIDE FIRE BOX HAVE A METAL CUTTING SAW AND DRILL HANDY. other wise be prepared for a nasty fight. mine took 4 hours sad to say. i had to use my tin snips and a drill finally. alot of the material that needs to be STRUCK by a hammer really needs to be cut . had i bough it all assembled i would have felt bad about not doing it my self so i bought the boxes and tried to assemble inside DON'T DO THIS. GO OUT SIDE. also you probably would if you are like me prefer to assemble it one day then cook the next *this give time for the aches and pain to subside* and you have a perfect grill day to remember. sorry my 2 cents was so long thanks for listening.
