The Perfect Steak

To grill the perfect steak:

steak
Fire up your grill. When the grilling grate is nice and hot, throw on your steaks. You get the best results with steaks that are 1 to 1½ inches thick. Leave the steaks alone for 7 minutes, no more, no less, then turn and let them cook on the other side for another 6 minutes.

The result? A perfectly cooked medium-rare steak, still bright-pink in the middle. Some people like to salt and pepper the steaks before cooking, but different outdoor cooks have different opinions on this practice.

Slather on your favorite steak sauce and get eatin'!

There was a recipe for in Cook's Illustrated for how to serve a portobello mushroom as an entree. Anyone try the recipe?
